Fall Surrender & Beauty Trends

We are coming up to my favorite time of year when the days are warm and the evenings are getting cooler. Sweatshirt weather if you will. This has always been my favorite season, for a variety of reasons. When I was young, I loved going to back to school with my new school year wardrobe. Brand new sneakers, a new book bag, and a new Trapper Keeper. I couldn’t wait to see all of my friends and find out who my new teacher would be. I can still remember every teacher I had from grade 1-12. Another favorite memory was going apple picking. One of the orchards we went to had a general store and you could make your own peanut butter from the roasted peanuts displayed in the big containers. Afterwards, my parents would take us to a park and I would dip my apple slices into the freshly made peanut butter while sipping on apple cider. I didn’t get any better than that.

“Tastings” of the Season

As an adult, I love that there are as many if not more wineries in the area as there are apple orchards. I haven’t been apple picking since my son was little, but I love a good wine tasting. Our area so many beautiful vineyards who have so much to offer. I recently met up with Susan from Stonington Vineyards about a potential partnership with them and Cerulean Spa at the Mystic Marriott Hotel. Susan shared with me the passion that goes into wine making and how it really is a labor of love. Stonington Vineyards, like many of the local vineyards is part of the CT Wine Trail. They offer many events that include music and food trucks. They are also the only local vineyard that is open year-round. Our collaboration will include a package with spa services at the spa and a wine tasting at the Stonington Vineyard. I can’t think of a better day spent with friends just relaxing and sipping.

Fall Beauty Trends

This season, be on the lookout for the bold, berry red lips. I love a dramatic red, pouty lip paired with minimal eye makeup. Natural looking eyebrows are taking the place of the overdrawn, dark filled eyebrows. Fuller brows with a soft arch can be achieved a brow gel and pencil. Extra dewy skin is very on trend and of course my favorite skincare goal. Be sure to use a hydrating primer and luminous foundation to achieve this look.
