A Celebration of Culinary Delights and Social Connection.

Hello Neighbors! In the realm of culinary experiences, few things rival the delightful matchmaking of breakfast and lunch known as brunch. For me, brunch embodies a lifestyle—an indulgent ritual that celebrates leisure, friendships, and the artistry of an endless selection of fine cuisine. It’s so much more than an omelet station and endless mimosas. It's the ritual of getting together with friends and then perusing the culinary showroom floor or ordering off a carefully selected menu. I fancy myself to be an avid
brunch goer. It’s one of my favorite things to do to spend time with some of my favorite people.

A Great Opportunity to Catch Up with Old Friends.

I recently had brunch with some friends at Saybrook Point Inn & Spa’s, Fresh Salt. We had a lovely table by the window and enjoyed the sunny, water views. We had a wonderful meal with so many options to choose from. We laughed and told stories while we took our time eating and sipped champagne. Brunch is also a great addition to a girl's spa day too. At Cerulean Spa at the Mystic Marriott, our guests can plan their spa services to include either breakfast or lunch at the Helmsman Kitchen & Bar restaurant. I always suggest this to our groups because the spa is a quiet space, and brunch gives them the opportunity to chat and socialize. Let’s not forget Mother’s Day is next month, so plan ahead for your brunch reservations!

A Way to Celebrate Life and Create Memories.

About 10 years ago, I went on vacation to Southern California. While in San Diego, I really wanted to visit to the Hotel Del Coronado where they filmed one of my favorite movies with one of my favorite movie stars, Some Like It Hot. I’m a huge Marilyn Monroe fan and love her character, Sugar Kane. I knew I had to visit this iconic hotel and my trip happened to fall on a Sunday, so of course, I made a reservation for their famous brunch. I was so blown away with the exquisite decor of the ballroom, the beautiful high ceilings, and plush furniture. There were so many different brunch stations, I didn’t know where to start. What I do remember most is the impeccable service given and the homemade waffles served with a decadent caramel cream sauce that I dream about from time to time. Anytime there’s a mention of brunch (or Marilyn Monroe), I can’t help but think of my beautiful afternoon at The Hotel Del.

As we revel in the joys of brunch, we embrace more than just a meal—we celebrate a way of life. Let’s raise our glasses, savor each bite, and toast to the simple pleasures of midmorning repasts that nourish both body and soul. Cheers!

Be well, spa often, and wear your sunscreen.
